On Gap Yahs

I was first introduced to the concept of a “Gap Year” when I lived in the UK my sophomore year of high school. A gap year is a hiatus from school a student takes between high school and college. They use it to travel, do internships or do a job. Though gap years are generally reserved for the wealthy in the UK (see video), I think we could seriously take the concept and run with it here in the US. Don’t have enough cash for college? Take a gap year to make money! Didn’t get into the college of your choice? Take a gap year and do something altruistic to show them how charitable and resourceful you are! I think it could be the solution to a lot of problems, especially if you are graduating young and/or unsure of what to do next.
